The inflation data pre-market came in much hotter than anticipated. The producer price index, which measures goods at a wholesale level before it reaches consumers, jumped 0.6% on the month, that was higher than the 0.3% anticipated by analysts and the 0/3% number in January. This continuing trend in inflation data going north is probably sowing doubt amongst traders that the Fed is not yet ready to start cutting interest rates anytime soon.
